RoboCop's remake will be released in the summer of 2013
A new approach to the story of policeman that comes to life through technology to make law through his new form, indestructible, will appear in theaters August 9, 2013, according to The Playlist.

Film directors will be under the guidance of Jose Padilha and film star will be Joel Kinnaman (The Killing), recently confirmed the central role of the film. Swedish actor was favorite in front of big names that producers considered for this role as Russell Crowe and Michael Fassbender.

The film has a budget of 100 million dollars according to imdb.com and is written by Nick Schenk (Gran Torino) and Joshua Zetumer.

Joel Kinnaman robocop 2013Joel Kinnaman, star of the series The Killing, landed the lead role in the next remake of Robocop, which is directed by Brazilian Jose Padhila known for action movies 'Elite Squad' and 'Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within'.

Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman whom you have seen this year in American film version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, becomes dominant in this version of Robocop, taking over the role from Peter Weller, who played both the first film in 1987, and in continuation of 1990.

Plans for this remake was a step to be canceled when the director Darren Aronofsky dropped and MGM studios faced with financial problems in 2010.

Film of Paul Verhoven 1987, with Peter Weller in the role holder, described the adventures of cyborg cop in a futuristic version of Detroit. According to statements by Padilha, the remake will fill the gaps of original version of the story, focusing on the transformation of man Alex Murphy who was to be called RoboCop.

The scenario will be taken by Nick Schenk (Gran Torino). There has not been announced no other actor in the cast, which will begin production at the end of 2012.
